AACSB administers several surveys each year through DataDirect. These surveys are listed below, along with useful information regarding their reporting requirements, time frames, and releases.

Business School Questionnaire (BSQ) Programs Module
The BSQ Programs Module is the source for data on most aspects of the business school’s operations, including student enrollments, degrees conferred, programs, and more.

BSQ Finances Module

The BSQ Finances Module is an extension of the BSQ, focusing specifically on the financial operations and governance models of the business unit. Download 2019-20 report.

Staff Compensation & Demographics Survey*

Formerly known as the Salary Survey, the SCDS collects anonymized data on faculty and administrator salaries, as well as demographic information about these personnel. Download 2019-20 report.

*To receive benchmarking access to the SCDS, you must complete the full survey. However, only the Faculty and Staff Demographics section is required per the 2020 Accreditation Standards.

BSQ Employment Module The BSQ Employment Module is an extension of the BSQ that focuses on student employment outcomes following graduation, such as the length of time to receive an offer and begin work, and starting salaries and bonuses. Early January to late February Early April
Accounting Programs Questionnaire (APQ) The APQ is a scaled-down version of the BSQ, pertaining to the accounting departments of business schools that have achieved AACSB's accounting accreditation. April to June Late August

Affinity Group Surveys*

AACSB regularly partners with its affinity groupsBaccarat to conduct research on topics of interest. This research has previously included niche surveys to target audiences within the business school.

Deans Survey*

BaccaratConducted triennially, the Deans Survey is an optional survey for the heads of business schools that collects aggregate data pertaining to various demographics related on the deanship.

Senior Business School Administrators Survey*

Conducted triennially, the Senior Business School Administrators Survey (formerly the Associate Deans survey) is an optional survey for senior business school administrators (such as associate deans, assistant deans, and vice deans) that collects aggregate data on various demographics related to senior business school administrators.

Quick-take Surveys
AACSB periodically conducts surveys on topics pertinent to AACSB members. Recent quick-take surveys have focused on the impact of COVID-19 on business schools.
